Colorado Mesa also swept a two-game series from Div. I Northern Colorado in the middle of the week.
RMAC PITCHER OF THE WEEKFor the second straight week, Colorado Mesa has the RMAC pitcher of the week. Junior No. 3 starter
Tanner Herdt was named the pitcher of the week after his performance against Colorado Mines. Herdt pitched a complete game and allowed just one unearned run on six hits and struck out seven. This performance comes one week after he struck out 17 MSU Denver Roadrunners.Â

Alex Fife extended his hitting streak after sitting out five games with an injury. Fife extended his streak to 11 games, the longest this season for a Maverick. He also extended his reached base streak to 20 games.
ONE-RUN GAMESThe Mavericks have played in 11 one-run games in 25 total games this season. They have an 8-3 record in those games. In contrast, the Mavericks played 13 one-run games in 57 games last season and had a 9-4 record in those games.Â
BUCK THE TRENDLeft handed hitting
Alex Fife bucks the trend when it comes to lefty-lefty matchups. The senior has a .500 batting average (8-for-16) against left handed pitchers this season.
COACHINGHead coach
Chris Hanks won his 700th game for the Mavericks on February 19 in a 5-4 win over Cal Baptist. He has spent his entire 17 year coaching career at Colorado Mesa and has won 11 RMAC Championships and two NCAA Regional titles.
PROTECTING THE HOUSESuplizio Field has been very kind to the Mavericks for several seasons now. The Mavericks are 113-14 the past four seasons including the 27-5 record last season. They have not been shutout at home in 371 straight games dating back to the 2004 season (L 0-3 Western Oregon, Feb. 14).
RMAC TOURNAMENT IN 2015Colorado Mesa claimed their second consecutive RMAC Tournament Championship, defeating MSU Denver 7-6 on a walk-off home run by
Alex Fife. It is the the Mavericks 11th RMAC Tournament Championship, most by any school in the conference.Â
REGIONAL TOURNAMENTThe Mavericks hosted the NCAA South Central Regional for the second straight season and went 1-2 in the tournament. The Mavericks fell to St. Mary's then went on to defeat St. Edward's before falling to eventual champion Angelo State.
ON DECKColorado Mesa will return home for a four-game series with Adams State at Suplizio Field. The Grizzlies are currently in second place in the Plains Division. The series will start on Friday at 6:05pm.
