GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse team ran past Oklahoma Baptist Monday (March 14) to win 22-4.
A strong first half gave the Mavs the lead they needed as they went up 16-1.
In the second half the Mavs coasted to the win holding the Bison to only three goals.
Shots heavily favored the Mavs as they outshot the Bison 33-18.
The Mavs were also able to win the draw control battle, winning 20-8 over the Bison.
The ground ball battle was a close battle with the Mavs edging out the Bison 11-9.
The Mavs had ten different goal scorers on the day.
Lexie Chavez and
Ashley Eickhoff had hat tricks for the Mavs.
Chavez led the Mavs with eight total points (five goals and three assists) on the day.
Jillian Pfeifer started off the game only allowing one goal and making four saves. Pfeifer also grabbed her third win of the season.
Kady Herzog came in for the second half allowing three goals and making five saves.
The Mavs return to action Thursday (March 17) to take on Lindenwood at St. Charles, Mo.Â
