LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Colorado Mesa University softball team rallied for a 13-7 win over No. 19 Sonoma State Sunday (Feb. 7).

The Seawolves got out to an early 7-0 lead after scoring three runs in the first and four in the second.

The Mavericks put a pair of runs across the plate in the second thanks to a single by Alexandria Dulfour followed by doubles by Makayla Kovac and Brooke Hodgson.

Mesa followed up with a season-high seven runs in the fourth. The Mavs scored all seven of its runs in the inning with two outs. Zoe Pakes capped the scoring in the inning with a two-run homerun, her first of the season.

Brooke Hodgson earned her first win of the season allowing seven runs, six earned, on 11 hits.

CMU opened the day with a 3-2 loss to Concordia (Ore.).

Concordia plated one run in the third and another in the fourth to lead 2-0.
