GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. –
James Young III went 4-for-5 with three runs driven in and a run scored in an 11-7 come from behind win over the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers on Monday afternoon at Suplizio Field. The Mavericks earned the series sweep and moved to 3-0 on the season.
Young had the go-ahead hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Mavericks an 8-7 lead. Young squared around to bunt, pulled back and slashed a ball just past the drawn in first baseman to score

Mitch Robinson also had a day at the plate. Robinson went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored
The Mavericks scored their 11 runs on 13 hits and played errorless defense.
Nebraska-Kearney had two different leads in the game at 5-3 and 7-5 but couldn't hang onto either one. The Lopers hit three home runs in the game which were the only ones in the series as well.
Kyle Leahy earned the win in relief after pitching an inning and two-thirds of shutout baseball. Leahy allowed one hit while striking out one to move to 1-0.
Bligh Madris pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing a walk, a hit and struck out three.
Colorado Mesa will hit the road for a four-game series with Cal Baptist starting on Thursday in Riverside, Calif.
