Men's Basketball Hits the Road

Colorado Mesa will play a pair of road games this weekend before taking a break for the holidays. The Mavericks snapped their six-game losing streak with a 91-82 win over Adams State for its RMAC win of the season. CSU-Pueblo enters Friday's game with Colorado Mesa on a three-game winning streak, and New Mexico Highlands has lost its last five games.

First Double-Double
Connor Nichols recorded the first double-double by a CMU player this season against Adams State. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Nichols scored 10 of his 18 points from the free throw line. 

Career-Night
James Sylvester scored a career-high 18 points in last weeks win over Adams State. The Toronto, Canada, native scored 12 of his 18 points from the free throw line and grabbed five rebounds. 

Another Career Night
Ludvig Saldh drained a career-high five 3-pointers on his way to a career- and team-high 17 points. The native of Gothenburg, Sweden won the 3-point shooting contest at CMU's Midnight Madness by draining 19-of-25 3-point attempts. 

First Home Win
Last Saturday's win over Adams State was the first home win for Colorado Mesa this season. The Mavericks are 0-3 on the road and 1-2 in neutral site games this season. 

Field Goal Percentage
Colorado Mesa is 2-1 this season when it shoots better than its opponent. 

Free Throws
Colorado Mesa drained a season-high 39 free throws in the win against Adams State. The last time Mesa drained 39 free throws in a game was also against Adams State on Feb. 24, 2012. 

Overtime?
The last time that Colorado Mesa played an overtime was its last meeting against New Mexico Highlands in the RMAC Tournament on March 1, 2016. The Mavericks outscored the Cowboys 22-4 in overtime for the 95-77 win.
