GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. – The Colorado Mesa University men's soccer team is headed to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship for the second straight year after advancing on penalty kicks against MSU Denver Friday (Nov. 4).

The Roadrunners got on the board first with an early second half goal. Danny Bautista sent a long pass forward to Jeff Gillis who ran on to it and sent a low shot to the corner.

Luis Schraidt tied the game at 1-1 when he fired a loose ball home from the top of the penalty box in the 61^st minute.

The game remained scoreless through regulation and overtime.

The Mavericks shot first in the rotation with Trentin Atkin, Luis Schraidt and Roy Abergil all making their attempts.

CMU goalie Briley Guarneri made a save on a shot by Josh Belfrage, and Dimitri Ney sent his shot high over the cross bar on MSUD's second attempt.

D'Angelo Escobar kept the Roadrunners alive with his make in the third round.

Moshe Perez secured the win for CMU with his make to lead off the fourth round.

Colorado Mesa dominated the play offensively finishing with a 16-8 edge in shots. The Mavericks also led 6-5 in corner kicks.

Colorado Mesa (14-1-4) will host Regis in the RMAC Championship Game Sunday (Nov. 6). Regis defeated UCCS 2-1 in the other semifinal.
