Roberto Diaz and
Moshe Perez scored their first goals of the season to lead the Colorado Mesa University men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Colorado Mines Friday (Oct. 7).
The Mavericks had several scoring opportunities in the first half before finally scoring in the final minute of the first half.
Roberto Diaz scored on a one-touch shot off a free kick from
Luis Schraidt.
The Mavericks added a second goal in the 84
th.
Kevin Del Mazo and
Roy Abergil connected a pair of passes before
Moshe Perez buried a shot across the face of the goal to the lower corner.
The Mavericks out-shot the Orediggers 14-7 in the game, and 11-3 in the first half.
Both teams finished with four corner kicks.
Briley Guarneri finished with three saves to record his seventh shutout of the season.
Colorado Mesa (7-1-3, 6-0-1) will host Colorado Christian Sunday (Oct. 9).
