RAPID CITY, S.D. – Two days after winning the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season title, #21 Colorado Mesa settled for a 0-0 tie against the South Dakota Mines Hardrockers on Sunday afternoon in the regular season finale for both schools.
The Mavericks outshot the Hardrockers 27-2 in the match but couldn't find the back of the net. Senior
Roy Abergil took five shots with all of them coming on net.
Sophomore goalie
Briley Guarneri saved both of South Dakota Mines' shots in the match and earned his 10
th shutout of the season.
The Mavericks finish the regular season with a 13-1-4 overall record and was 12-0-2 in the conference.
Colorado Mesa received a bye into the semifinals of the tournament and will face either fourth-seeded Colorado Mines or fifth-seeded MSU Denver on Friday at 4pm at Walker Field.
