Roy Abergil scored two goals to lead Colorado Mesa to a 2-0 win over Adams State in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's soccer match Sunday (Oct. 2).
Abergil's two goals gave him 12 on the season and 34 in his career. He is also currently leading the RMAC in both goals and points.
His first goal came from inside the box shot to deep corner, in the 46th minute while his second goal was crossed in by
Malik Mennana with just 15 seconds left on the clock.
The Mavericks have won their last five Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches dating back to the 0-0 tie with MSU Denver on September 16.
Colorado Mesa out shot Adams State 20-12, and 10-7 on goal.
Briley Guarneri had his fourth shutout of the season and 17th in his career. He made seven saves in the win against the Grizzlies.
The Mavericks has a showdown with Colorado School of Mines on Friday (Oct. 7) and Colorado Christian Sunday (Oct. 9). Both matches are at Walker Field.
