Mackenzie King and 
Alexis Allard each scored for the Colorado Mesa University women's soccer team in a 2-1 win over Fort Lewis in RMAC play Friday (Oct. 14).
King got the Mavericks on the board with a dynamite goal in the 50
th minute. She fired a shot into the upper right corner from 35-yards out on a free kick.
Allard extended the Maverick lead to 2-0 after she shot a loose ball from the top of the penalty box over the outstretched hands of FLC goalie Kaylee Mickens in the 65
th minute.
The Skyhawks scored its lone goal of the game in the 72
nd minute. Meredith Curran sent a low centering pass to Haleigh Macomb who tapped it in for her first goal of the season.
Fort Lewis nearly tied the game in the final seconds with a shot that was just wide of the goal.
CMU dominated in shot 10-5, but FLC led 4-0 in corner kicks.
Katelyn Houston earned her third win of the season for CMU making two saves on three shots on goal.
Colorado Mesa (6-5-2, 4-3-1) will host Adams State Sunday (Oct. 14).
