GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. – Mackenzie King and Alexis Allard each scored for the Colorado Mesa University women's soccer team in a 2-1 win over Fort Lewis in RMAC play Friday (Oct. 14).

King got the Mavericks on the board with a dynamite goal in the 50^th minute. She fired a shot into the upper right corner from 35-yards out on a free kick.

Allard extended the Maverick lead to 2-0 after she shot a loose ball from the top of the penalty box over the outstretched hands of FLC goalie Kaylee Mickens in the 65^th minute.

The Skyhawks scored its lone goal of the game in the 72^nd minute. Meredith Curran sent a low centering pass to Haleigh Macomb who tapped it in for her first goal of the season.

Fort Lewis nearly tied the game in the final seconds with a shot that was just wide of the goal.

CMU dominated in shot 10-5, but FLC led 4-0 in corner kicks.

Katelyn Houston earned her third win of the season for CMU making two saves on three shots on goal.

Colorado Mesa (6-5-2, 4-3-1) will host Adams State Sunday (Oct. 14).
