Colorado Mesa picked up a pair of 3-0 sweeps over the weekend in Brownson Arena. On Friday, the Mavericks defeated CSU-Pueblo behind 16 kills from sophomore Mackenzie Edwards. She also came away with 12 digs while
Taylor Woods recorded 23 digs.
On Saturday, they defeated the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls in three sets. Edwards once again led the team in kills with 13 while
Hattie Gianinetti had nine kills and hit a team-high .471.Â
UPCOMING MATCHES
Huge matches are on tap with big time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference implications this weekend in Brownson Arena. On Friday, the Mavericks will welcome in the Colorado Christian Cougars who sport a 6-2 RMAC record. The Cougars will play eight of their final 10 matches on the road to close out the regular season.
On Saturday, 18th ranked Colorado Mines comes to Grand Junction. The Orediggers sit atop the RMAC standings with an 8-0 record. The Orediggers have won 11 of their 14 matches by way of a 3-0 sweep while two of their three losses have come by way of a sweep.

Colorado Mesa head coach
Dave Fleming won his 150 match in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference this past weekend with the 3-0 win over New Mexico Highlands. Fleming has averaged 13 RMAC wins a year since he took over the program in 2005.
ACE IN THE HOLE
Colorado Mesa has been a very good serving team this season. They rank second in the RMAC in service aces per set at 1.52. Zie Edwards leads the team in aces with 17 while three others are in double digits.
NATIONAL POLL
Colorado Mesa will play their third nationally ranked team of the season when they host No. 18 Colorado Mines on Saturday afternoon. MSU Denver entered the poll this week at No. 25 while the Mavericks are still receiving votes.
