Colorado Mesa will look to extended its winning streak to four games this week. Mesa will play at MSU Denver Friday (Jan. 8) and UCCS Saturday (Jan. 9). 

Player of the Week and Month
Ryan Stephan was named the RMAC Player of the Week for the fourth time Monday after averaging 25 points per contest in two games. The senior shot nearly 55 percent from the field while also making 13-of-16 free throws. On the boards, Stephan was a presence again, pulling down a career-high 19 rebounds in a win over Black Hills State. He averaged 17 rebounds per game over the weekend. He was also named the Div. II Bulletin Player of the Month. 
Stephan ranks in the top-25 nationally in nine different categories; fourth in double-doubles (seven), fourth in free throws made (93), fifth in free throw attempts (117), seventh in points per game (25.5), eighth in total points (280), 12th in defensive rebounds (7.82), 18th in total rebounds (111), 19th in rebounds per game (10.1) and 21st in total field goals (89). 

Hot Hand
Freshman Connor Nichols had the hot hand in the win over South Dakota Mines. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native shot a perfect 7-for-7 from the field, including three 3-pointers, and finished with a career-high 18 points. He is the first CMU player this season to shoot 1.000 from the field with a minimum of five attempts. The following night he dished out a career-high five assists against Black Hills State. 

Fantastic Freshman
Freshman Brandon Hoffer scored a career-high 14 points in the win over Black Hills. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native grabbed a career-high six rebounds in both games last week. 

Rebounds
CMU is 8-2 when it finishes with more or the same number of rebounds as its opponents, and 0-3 when it is out-rebounded. 

Score 71
Colorado Mesa is 8-2 this year when scoring at least 71 points. 

Assists
Colorado Mesa leads the RMAC in both assists per game (16.8) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3). 

Looking Ahead
CMU will host a pair of home games next week. Mesa will host Fort Lewis Friday (Jan. 15) and Adams State Saturday (Jan. 16).
