Bryanna Adams scored a game-high 26 points in an 87-56 Colorado Mesa win over Western State on Saturday (Jan. 30) in Brownson Arena.

Adams scored 14 points in the first half and shot 9-for-23 from the field and 6-for-16 from behind the arc in the game. She finished the night with seven rebounds.

Colorado Mesa got out to an early lead 38-32 at the half. In the third CMU outscored 26-7. The Mavericks finished the game shooting 28-for-63 (44.4-percent) from the field and 16-41 (39.0-percent) from the three-point line.

The Mavericks bench made a huge contribution outscoring the Mountaineers bench 51-11.

Kerstin Strong came off the bench to score nine points converting all three shots from the field and all three free throws and grabbed four rebounds.

Ashley Stevens was the only other Mavericks that scored in double-digits with 14 points.

Taylor Long led the Mountaineers with 22 points and five rebounds.

The Mavericks will be on the road next week when they play Western New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands.
