GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. –
Bryanna Adams scored a career-high 31 points in the Mavericks 71-58 win over Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference unbeaten Black Hills State on Saturday evening in Brownson Arena.
Adams scored 18 of her 31 points and hit four three-pointers in the first half. She was 11-for-18 from the field and buried six three-point shots on the night.
Colorado Mesa led for nearly 34 minutes in the game and their largest lead of the night was with 1:08 left in the game when they led 71-54.
The Yellow Jackets closed to within five at 50-45 with 2:26 remaining in the third quarter but could never get any closer as the Mavericks outscored them 19-13 in the final quarter of play.
The Mavericks shot a season-high 53.2 percent (25-for-57) from the field and 44.4 (8-for-18) percent from behind the three-point arc.
Senior
Siu Lo'amanu was the only other Maverick who scored in double-digits with 10 points.
Erika Musante played excellent defense on the interior and finished with a game-high seven rebounds, four blocked shots, and a steal.
Guard
Laurin Rivera played 37 minutes and had eight points, four rebounds and a game-high five assists.
Black Hills State was led by Christine Thorn's 15 points.
The Maverick will be on the road next weekend and will complete the season series with MSU Denver and UCCS.
