Mavericks Defeat Grizzlies 82-49

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Bryanna Adams scored 20 of her game-high 23 points in the first half in a 82-49 win over Adams State on Saturday evening in Brownson Arena.
 
Adams finished the night 7-of-16 from the field and 6-of-14 from the three-point line. All six of her three-point baskets came in the first quarter of play and tied a season-high. She also pulled down nine rebounds with four coming on the offensive glass.
 
Adams and the Mavericks built a 41-31 halftime lead and shot 48 percent from the floor but did not attempt a free-throw. They led by as many as 33 in the game when they led 79-46 with 1:36 left in the fourth quarter. They also led for over 38 of the 40 minutes in the game.
 
Colorado Mesa made 17 three-point field goals which is the most this season in the RMAC and most since February 2, 2010 when they buried 16 against Northern New Mexico.
 
The Mavericks owned a 42-7 edge in bench points.
 
Jaylyn Duran ended up with a season-high 17 points off the bench on 6-of-12 shooting from the field including 5-of-8 from three. She played a season-high 16 minutes as well.
 
The 82 points by the Mavericks is the most scored in a game since their 81-43 win over Oklahoma Panhandle back on November 27.
 
Laurin Rivera finished with nine assists and Tine Randrup-Thomsen had nine off the bench.
 
The Mavericks will be on the road next week when they play Regis and Chadron State.
