VideoComplete Match Notes vs. ASU and FLCLAST WEEKENDColorado Mesa picked up a weekend sweep of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference newcomers. On Friday, the Mavericks earned a 3-1 win over Westminster at Walker Field. Freshman
Moshe Perez scored a pair of goals including one via a penalty kick. On Sunday, the Mavericks made the long trek to Rapid City to get a 5-2 decision over South Dakota Mines. Five different Mavericks scored goals in the match.
THIS WEEKEND'S OPPONENTSThe Mavericks have never lost to Adams State in both program's brief history and hold a 9-0-2 all-time mark. In the all-time series with Fort Lewis, Colorado Mesa is riding a three-match winning streak after beginning the series 0-10-1. CMU holds a 1-6-0 record in home matches against the Skyhawks.
FRESH PRODUCTIONThe Mavericks are getting big numbers out of their freshman and redshirt freshman. Freshman have accounted 25 of the CMU's 45 points on the season which translates to 55 percent of the production. They have also scored 11 of the 17 goals this season, 65% of the total goals.
ALL-TIME MARKSJunior
Roy Abergil is just one goal shy of tying the all-time mark for goals scored that Eric Anderson currently occupies. He is currently just four points back of the top spot in all-time points also held by Eric Anderson.
Nestor Escobar added to his already all-time assist record over the weekend and moved to No. 6 on the all-time points chart.

Moshe Perez followed teammate
Roy Abergil to Colorado Mesa from Beercheeva, Israel. Perez has  become a scoring threat. Perez scored three goals this past weekend and narrowly missed out on Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors.

COACHINGTodd Padgett is in his second season coaching the Mavericks. He had an extermely successful first season, finishing 18-4-1 and leading the Mavericks all the way to the NCAA National Semifinals in Louisville, Ky.Â
The Mavericks will have four assistants helping them out this season with
Stan Schrock returning as the top assistant. Schrock was an Academic All-American and All-Region defender a year ago.
2014 NCAA NATIONAL SEMIFINALISTSThe Mavericks had their second straight season of firsts. In 2013, they won the RMAC Tournament for the first time in program history. They followed that up with their first NCAA Tournament appearance, NCAA Tournament win, and South Central Region title.
RMAC PRESEASON POLLColorado Mesa was picked to finish fifth in the preseason coaches poll but received four first place votes.
Roy Abergil and
Blake Carlson were selected to the preseason All-RMAC team with Carlson earning preseason defensive player of the year.
