COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced the All South Central Region Men's Soccer Teams this afternoon with Colorado Mesa's Manuel Ponce Casas earning honors.
Ponce Casas was selected as a member of the Second Team, being the only representative from Colorado Mesa. He was amongst 13 players from the RMAC to be selected with seven making the First Team and six making the Second Team.
Athletic communication professionals from the NCAA Division II South Central Region schools and conferences selected the D2CCA all‐region teams. The process concludes with All‐American selections that will be announced in December.
Ponce Casas earns this honor after putting together a strong Senior season to finish his career at CMU, recording nine goals and four assists. He recorded two braces on the year while finishing with 22 total points to rank top five in the conference. In conference play alone he scored six of his goals.
In addition, Ponce Casas finished his career at Colorado Mesa with 27 goals to rank third all-time and ties for third in career points with 66. He was an All-RMAC First Team pick which was released on Nov. 13.
This is the first time in Ponce Casas' career that he earns all-Region honor after being a two-time All-RMAC pick.
Oklahoma Christian's Ethan Nakolo was selected as the South Central Region Player of the Year.
