GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse team earned a birth in the RMAC Tournament with a 14-11 win over Adams State Sunday (April 26).
The Grizzlies scored the first goal of the game at 27:36, but the Mavericks countered eight seconds later with the first of two goals.
ASU scored four answered goals to lead 5-2.
CMU scored four of the next six but would enter halftime trailing 7-6.
Ashley Eickhoff, who would score all five her goals in the second half, tied the game at 10-10 with a free position shot at 8:23.
The Mavs scored four of the final five goals of the contest to secure a 14-11 win.
Jessica Cook tallied six points (three goals, three assists), and
Kayla Lyall had five points (one goal, four assists).
Jillian Pfeifer earned the win for CMU making eight saves.
Colorado Mesa out-shot Adams State 28-22 and held a 19-7 advantage in draw controls.
Colorado Mesa (9-5, 3-3) will face Lindenwood in the RMAC Tournament May 2.
