CHADRON, Neb. – The Colorado Mesa University softball team dropped its final two games of the regular season Saturday (April 25) in Chadron, Neb.

Chadron State blasted six homeruns to defeat Colorado Mesa 15-6 in the first game.

The Eagles scored seven runs in the first inning due to a pair of homeruns including a grand slam.

CSC added one more in the second to extend its lead to 8-0.

The Mavericks plated five runs across the third and fourth innings, but the Eagles outscored the Mavs 7-1 in the final two innings for the win.

Nicole Robinson went 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and scored three runs.

Megan Robinson did not record a hit ending her team-leading 23-game hitting streak.

MSU Denver scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to hand Mesa a 9-6 loss in the final game of the regular season.

Brooke Hodgson started things for the Mavericks with a two-run homer in the first inning.

The Roadrunners answered with three runs on three hits in the bottom of the first.

The Mavs scored two runs in the second, but the Roadrunners answered once again with three runs in the third.

CMU tied the game with one run in both the fourth and sixth innings.

Two errors and two hits would lead to three Metro runs in the sixth for the win.

Megan Brown, Brooke Hodgson and Tawnee Woosley each finished with two hits for the CMU.

CMU (32-21, 28-11) will enter next week's RMAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed.
