SALISBURY, N.C. – The Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse team out-shot Catawba 44-18 in a 23-10 win over the Indians Tuesday (March 24).
Jenny Lange and
Ashley Eickhoff led the Mavericks with five goals each. Kayla Layall and
Jessica Cook each scored four goals and added two assists.
Catawba scored the first two goals of the match, but Mesa responded by scoring seven of the next nine goals.
The Mavs closed the first half scoring eight of the last nine goals to lead 15-7.
Mesa outscored Catawba 8-3 over the final 30 minutes.
CMU finished with a 23-11 edge in draw controls.
Jillian Pfeiffer and
Kady Herzog split time in goal with each making three saves and Pfeiffer earning the win.
CMU (5-3) will face Wingate Wednesday (March 25).Â
