PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse team led from start to finish in a 17-3 win at CSU-Pueblo Sunday (March 15).
The Mavericks scored eight of the first nine goals and led 11-3 at halftime.
The CMU defense held the Thunderwolves scoreless in the second half, while the Mavericks scored six second half goals.
Mesa out-shot Pueblo 30-12 and finished with a 19-3 edge in draw controls.
Ashley Eickhoff led the Mavericks with five goals and one assist.
Kayla Lyall scored one goal and added six assists for CMU.
Jillian Pfeifer made three saves in the CMU win.
Kady Herzog made five saves in 30 minutes of relief action for CMU.
CMU (3-3) will host Rockhurst March 20.Â
