GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Fort Lewis scored four straight goals to defeat Colorado Mesa 7-6 in women's lacrosse Sunday (March 1).
The two teams traded goals in the first half with each scoring two.
The Mavericks started the second half scoring four of the first five goals in the half.
Fort Lewis concluded the game with four straight goals, including an extra-man opportunity with 5:33 remaining.
Lydia Furrow led the Mavericks with two goals on three shots.
Sara McMahon scored a game-high three goals for FLC, and Ellie Carpenter had three assists.
CMU finished with a 21-19 edge in shots, including a 14-9 advantage in the second half.
Jillian Pfeifer made a season-high 11 saves for the Mavericks.Â
