Mavs Fall in Overtime

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Mavericks dropped a 63-60 overtime decision to Colorado Mines on Friday evening in Lockridge Arena in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's basketball contest.

It was the first time that Colorado Mesa dropped back-to-back RMAC contests since January 28 and February 3, 2012 when they lost to fourth-ranked MSU Denver 78-40 and Nebraska-Kearney 75-70 in overtime.

The Mavericks were ice cold from the field tonight shooting just 27 percent (18-for-66) and 30 percent from the three-point line (9-for-30).

Siu Lo'amanu led the team in scoring with 15 points while the Mavericks leading scorer Bryanna Adams scored 14 points but shot just 19 percent from the field.

The Orediggers outrebounded the Mavericks 50-41 on the evening but committed more turnovers 18-13. They also had a 24-10 advantage on points in the paint.

Colorado Mesa falls to 5-3 on the season and 2-2 in the RMAC while Colorado Mines stays unbeaten in RMAC play at 4-0 and moves to 6-2 on the season.

The Mavericks will be on the road again tomorrow when they take on Colorado Christian at 5:00pm in the CCU Events Center.
