Mavs to Play at CSM, CCU

Colorado Mesa will look for its first RMAC win this weekend with games at Colorado Mines Friday (Dec. 18) and Colorado Christian on Saturday (Dec. 19).

Colorado Mesa leads the RMAC in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.33 and third in total assists (148) and third in assists per game (16.4). 

Free Throws
Mesa ranks second in the conference in free throws made (172) and second in free throw percentage (74.8). Ryan Stephan leads the team in free throw percentage at 81.5-percent. He leads the league in both free throws attempted (92) and made (75). 

Rebounds
The Mavs rank second in the league in offensive rebounds this season averaging 28.22, but has struggled offensively averaging 9.56, 10th best in the league. 

Road Record
This weekends games will be the second and third that the Mavs have played on the road. Mesa's first road game was a 68-61 loss to Westminster. CMU's first four games of the year were neutral site games. 

Double-Double
Eimer Lopez recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and a season-high 10 rebounds against MSU Denver. The San Juan, Puerto Rico, native dished out a season-high five assists against the Roadrunners. Lopez ranks second on the team in scoring averaging 11.6 points per game. 

Double Digits
Brandon Hoffer scored in double digits for the first time in his career scoring 10 points in his first career start against MSU Denver. 

Career Scoring
Ryan Stephan moved up to fourth in career scoring with 1,515 points after scoring a combined 38 points last weekend. The Lakewood, Colo., native needs 53 points to pass Kevin Flohr for third on the all-time scoring list. Stephan leads the RMAC and ranks ninth in Div. II scoring averaging 24.4 points per game. He leads the league in both total rebounds (89) and rebounds per game (9.9). 

Looking Ahead
CMU will ring in the new year with a home game against South Dakota Mines on Jan. 1. Mesa will host Black Hills State Jan. 2nd.
