GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – No. 22 Colorado Mesa dropped a 73-61 contest to the visiting MSU Denver Roadrunners on Saturday evening. It is just the second loss in Brownson Arena in head coach
Taylor Wagner's four years at Colorado Mesa.
The difference in the game came in rebounding where the Roadrunners had a 36-23 advantage which led to 19 second chance points. The Roadrunners pulled in 24 defensive rebounds which limited the Mavericks to one shot per possession.
Hannah Stipanovich led MSU Denver with 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field.
The Mavericks cut the lead to three points at 64-61 with 1:47 to play but the Roadrunners answered back with a banked in three by Luisa Tago.
Bryanna Adams paced Colorado Mesa with 18 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the field and 3-of-9 from beyond the three-point arc.

Erika Musante chipped in 12 points while
Siu Lo'amanu had nine points and a team-high six rebounds.
The Mavericks shot 39 percent from the field but made just seven three-point baskets in 28 attempts.
Colorado Mesa will be on the road for a pair of contests at Colorado Mines and Colorado Christian next weekend.
