GOLDEN, COLO. – Colorado Mines scored two unanswered goals to earn a 2-1 victory over Colorado Mesa University in the RMAC Tournament Championship Sunday (Nov. 8).
Roy Abergil, who was named to the all-tournament team, gave the Mavericks an early lead with a header off a long throw-in in the seventh minute.
David Boldt evened the score with a goal for Colorado Mines with a header off a corner kick in the 48
th minute.
Troy Haines scored the gamewinner for Mines with a low shot from 20-yards out that found the corner of the goal.
The Orediggers out-shot the Mavericks 13-9, and CSM held a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.
Briley Guarneri (12-3-2) made three saves and was named to the all-tournament team. Guarneri posted a shutout Friday (Nov. 6) against CSU-Pueblo in the semi-finals.

Moshe Perez were also named to the all-tournament team.
This was the second time in school history that CMU played in the championship game winning the tournament in 2013.
Colorado Mesa University (14-4-2) will find out if they qualified for the NCAA Tournament Monday (Nov. 8).
