Box Score GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa volleyball team was seeking its second straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament championship on Saturday evening. But, Colorado Mines earned a 3-2 win over the Mavericks in Lockridge Arena to earn the championship and the automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. 
The Orediggers rallied from being down 2-0 after two sets. They won the third set 25-22 and the fourth set 25-20 before exploding in the fifth set, winning 15-9. 
The Mavericks earned the win in the first two sets, winning the first 28-26 and the second 27-25. They hit .257 in the match with 73 total kills. 
In the opening set of the match, Colorado Mesa trailed 18-14 and 21-18 but rallied for the 28-26 win. 
Senior 
Caitie Breaux led a group of five Mavericks that had double-digit kills with 17. She also chipped in nine digs. 
Taylor Woods finished the night with a match-high 23 digs. 
Abby Ney and 
Ali Svorinic were named to the all-tournament team. Ney had 15 kills and two total blocks on the night while Svorinic had 55 assists (11.0 assists/set). 
The Mavericks will await their fate during Monday's NCAA Tournament selection show at 5:30pm. Colorado Mesa entered the week at No. 9 behind Western New Mexico for the eighth and final spot.
