GOLDEN, Colo. – The 19
th-ranked Colorado Mesa women's basketball team dropped a tough fought 56-48 decision to ninth-ranked West Texas A&M in the Tony Corbetta Classic, hosted by Colorado Mines.
Colorado Mesa led by 10 just before the halftime break but could only muster five points in the fourth quarter of play.
Bryanna Adams had a team-high 14 points on 5-of-16 shooting from the field (4-of-10 from three-point). She also had five rebounds and an assist.
Sydney Small was the only other Maverick in double-digits with 13 points.
The Mavericks shot 40 percent from the field and limited the Buffs to 37 percent but the Mavericks turned the ball over 21 times that led to 17 West Texas points.
West Texas' Sasha Watson finished with 14 points.
Colorado Mesa will be off until the Thanksgiving break when they host Dixie State and Oklahoma Panhandle in the Holiday Inn - Airport Thanksgiving Classic.
