Mavericks, Rangers Play to 1-1 Tie

Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – After falling behind 1-0 to Regis, the Colorado Mesa women's soccer team responded with a goal to earn a 1-1 tie on Friday evening at Walker Field in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference contest.
 
Regis scored their lone goal of the match in the 48th minute off a header to the near post on a corner kick.
 
Colorado Mesa responded a little over nine minutes later with a goal from Amanda Wenzel on a through pass from Sarah Pope. The goal was Wenzel's second of the season and it was Pope's second assist as well.
 
The Mavericks outshot Regis 12-8 and the Rangers were whistled offsides seven times to the Mavericks two.
 
Janelle Richmond-Buccola helped preserve the tie with an outstanding save with just 30 seconds left in regulation. She finished with three saves on the night.
 
Colorado Mesa will be back in action on Sunday at Walker Field with a match against the MSU Denver Roadrunners at 2:30pm.
