GOLDEN, Colo. – No. 11 Colorado Mines outscored the Colorado Mesa University men's basketball team 40-26 in the second half in-route to an 84-64 win Friday (Jan. 30).
The Mavericks trailed the Orediggers 44-38 at halftime, but poor shooting stalled a second half comeback.
CMU shot 39-percent (11-28) in the first half, but would shoot 30-percent (9-30) in the second. Overall the Mavericks shot 34-percent (20-58) for the game.
Mines shot 51-percent (29-56) for the game. CSM also made 11 3-pointers to CMU's six.
Trevor Ritchie recorded 13 assists for Mines who finished with 22 as a team.
Mines held a 39-30 edge in rebounds.
Ryan Stephan led the Mavericks with a game-high 25 points.
Julian Vasquez was the only other Mav in double figures with 11 points.
Gokul Natesan led the Orediggers with 20 points.
Colorado Mesa (14-6, 9-5) will play at Colorado Christian Saturday (Jan. 31). Â
