Series
Chadron State has won 11 of the last 12 meetings against Colorado Mesa. The lone Maverick win was 21-14 victory in Chadron, Neb. in 2003.

Colorado Mesa ranks second in Div. II in both blocked kicks and blocked punts. CMU has blocked four field goals and two punts this season.
Kick Returns
The Mavericks rank fourth in the nation and lead the RMAC in kickoff returns at 31.77 yards per return. Arkansas Tech leads Div. II averaging 37.44 per return.
Interceptions
The Mavericks streak of 13 consecutive games with an interception came to an end at Texas A&M-Kingsville, but the Mavericks wasted no time starting a new one. CMU picked-off a season-high three passes in the win at Adams State last weekend.
Dustin Rivas led the team with two picks including one to stop the final Adams State drive of the game.
Rushing High
Colorado Mesa rushed for a season-high 160 yards at Adams State. The Mavericks averaged 3.4 yards on 47 carries. Daryle Hawkins carried the ball a season-high 20 times for 62 yards (3.1).
First Downs
CMU is 2-0 this season when it has more fewer first downs than its opponents and 0-1 when it has more first downs.
Punting
Freshman punter
Austin Pitchford punted a season-high 11 times at Adams State for 507 yards. The Castle Rock, Colo., native is averaging 44.0 yards per punt, 11th best in Div. II and fourth in the RMAC.

Ryan Sheehan leads all Mavericks with 24 points this season. The Chandler, Ariz., native has kicked six field goals and six extra points this season. Overall 12 different players have scored this season for CMU.

Coach to Cure MD
Both Chadron and Colorado Mesa will be participating in the Coaches to Cure Muscular Dystrophy event during this weekend's game. All of the coaches will be wearing patches to raise awareness of the disease. Three brothers, Dominic (13), Collin (8) and Kaleb (5), who all have muscular dystrophy will walk with the team to the stadium and take part in the coin toss. The three brothers are the younger brother of current CMU baseball player junior Nick Romito. People can donate at www.coachtocuremd.org.
