GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado – The Colorado Mesa women's soccer team opened up Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on Friday afternoon with a match against the Colorado Christian Cougars at Walker Field. The Mavericks and Cougars ended their match after 110 minutes in a 0-0 tie.
Colorado Mesa outshot the Cougars in the match 12-3 but couldn't find the back of the net. They forced five saves between a pair of CCU goalkeepers.
Julia Kranstover took six shots for the Mavericks with four of those coming on goal.
The Mavericks took six corner kicks in the match and didn't allow Colorado Christian to take a single corner kick.
Sarah Schnetzler made a pair of saves in goal for Colorado Mesa.
The Mavericks will close out the weekend with a match against the Metro State University Roadrunners on Sunday in Denver.
