RMAC STANDINGSColorado Mesa currently has a 3.5 game lead on Plains Division leader New Mexico Highlands for the overall RMAC lead. They are also seven games up on Colorado Mines in the Mountain Division standings.Â
NCAA REGIONAL POLLThe NCAA released the first official Regional Poll on Wednesday. Colorado Mesa debuted at #1 followed by West Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Kingsville, St. Edward's, St. Mary's and Angelo State. The top six teams in every region qualify for the NCAA Tournament.Â

Derrick Garcia earned RMAC Player of the Week and NCBWA South Central Region Player of the Week honors following his performance against Colorado Christian. Garcia finished the weekend batting .714 (10-for-14) with 10 RBIs and seven runs scored.Â
FINDING THEIR STRIDEThe Mavericks started the season off on a rough stretch when it comes to hitting. They were batting as low as .251 after the Northern Colorado series. Now, CMU is on a tear at the plate. They are hitting .353 which is good enough for third best in the country and just five points behind leader Central Oklahoma.
MOUND PRESENCEColorado Mesa is on pace to have the best pitching staff it has ever had. As a staff, they have a 3.09 ERA and have held opponents to a .247 batting average. CMU has shutout six opponents including back-to-back games against the West Region's fifth best team right now in Dixie State.
