Box Score DENVER – The Colorado Mesa men's basketball season came to an end with an 83-74 loss at No. 1 Metro State in the quarterfinals of the RMAC Shootout Tuesday (March 4).

Mesa kept the game close over the first half trailing by just one at the break, 30-29. Both squads shot 40-percent in the first half with neither team attempting a free throw.
The Roadrunners outscored the Mavericks 53-45 in the second half and shot 65-percent (15-23) from the field. The Maverick's shooting also improved to the tune of 51-percent (16-31).
Sophomore
Ryan Stephan, who was named an All-RMAC first team selection, finished with a team-high 17 points and eight rebounds to lead CMU.
Junior
Landon Vermeer drained three of the team's seven 3-pointers and finished with 13 points. Fellow junior Mike Melillo chipped in 12.
Sophomore
Joe Kiely dished out five assists and finished with eight points.
Mesa held Brandon Jefferson, the RMAC Player of the Year, to 15 points, but Nicholas Kay and Mitch McCarron combined for 43.
