Box Score SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Colorado Mesa men's basketball team avenged its loss to Black Hills State earlier this season with a 71-64 RMAC win over the Yellow Jackets Friday (Feb. 7). The Mavericks improve to 10-10 overall and 8-8 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Sophomore Ryan Stephan paced the Mavericks with a game-high 26 points, just one point shy of tying his career-high of 27 set the previous game against Colorado Christian. The Lakewood, Colo., native shot 8-of-13 from the field and 10-of-13 from the free throw line. He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out two assists.

Sophomore Joe Kiely finished with 16 points, and junior Mike Melillo added 10.

Myles Henry led three 'Jackets in double figures with 19 points.

CMU shot 84-percent (22-26) from the free throw line and 44-percent (22-50) from the field.

The Mavericks held the 'Jackets to 36-percent (20-55) from the field. BHSU shot 74-percent (14-19) from the free throw line and 33-percent (10-30) from deep.

CMU led at halftime 25-21 and out-scored BHSU 46-43 over the final 20 minutes.
Mesa will play at Chadron State Saturday (Feb. 8).
