Colorado Mesa will carry its five-game winning streak into the New Year when it hosts Colorado Christian Friday (Jan. 2) and No. 9 Colorado School of Mines Saturday (Jan. 3). 

Player of the Week
Ryan Stephen was named the RMAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week for his dominating play at Fort Lewis and Adams State. The Lakewood, Colo., native has scored more points (296) this season than another player in Div. II. He is averaging 24.7 points per game, fifth best in Div. II. Stephan ranks in the top-five in the RMAC in 10 different categories. 

Season-High
Julian Vasquez scored a career-high 28 points at Adams State. The Miami, Fla., native shot 9-of-14 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from deep, and made all seven free throws. He also grabbed a career-high seven rebounds. He is averaging 10.4 points per game and 3.4 rebounds. 

Another Season-High
Nate Hawley scored a season-high 11 points in the win at Fort Lewis. The Montrose, Colo., native is averaging 3.4 points per game this season, but is averaging 5.8 points over the team's last five games. 

3-Pointers
3-pointers will play a big factor this weekend. Colorado Mines leads the nation and the RMAC in 3-point field goal percentage (.427), Colorado Christian ranks second in the league (.425) and Colorado Mesa is third (.397). CCU's Michael Brown leads the league in 3-pointers per game (3.6) and Jerry Duckworth ranks second (3.0). Duckworth leads the RMAC in 3-point attempts with 80. 

Assists
CMU leads the RMAC and ranks 14th in the nation in assists with 205. 

Polls
Colorado Mesa received votes in the latest NABC Coaches Poll. The last time the Mavericks were ranked was March 2, 2010 when they were ranked 23rd. 

Looking Ahead
Colorado Mesa will hit the road for games at CSU-Pueblo and UCCS Jan. 9-10.
