WEEKEND RECAP
Colorado Mesa earned their second and third NCAA Tournament victories in the program's brief history. The Mavericks picked up a 2-1 win over St. Edward's in the South Central Region Championship match where Roy Abergil scored his eighth game-winning goal of the season.
 
In the NCAA National Quarterfinal, Charlie Dukes' goal with just over two minutes left in the match sealed the win over Cal State-LA.
 
NCAA TOURNAMENT
The Mavericks are competing in their first NCAA Tournament since the program was born in 2007. They secured their first-ever tournament win against Midwestern State on Nov. 16 at Walker Field. They also won the South Central Region Championship and are going to the Final Four in their first appearance.
 
FINAL FOUR OPPONENTS
Colorado Mesa has never faced Charleston before. It will be the first meeting between the two schools. The Mavericks have never faced anyone in the Final Four.
 
ALL-REGION
RMAC Defensive Player of the Year Blake Carlson and forward Roy Abergil have been selected to the Daktronics All-Region First Team. Carlson has helped the Mavericks to a top ten ranking in both goals against average and shutout percentage while Abergil is the Mavericks leader in both points and goals. Nestor Escobar and Micah Conrads were each selected to the Second Team.
 
TICKLING THE TWINE
Sophomore Roy Abergil leads the Mavericks in both points and goals this season. Abergil has tied the single-season mark for both goals and points with 12 and 28 respectively. His 28 points also ranks fourth all-time in program history.
 
CROSSING IT IN
Junior Nestor Escobar holds the all-time and single-season records for assists in program history. Escobar now has eight assists on the season which is one more than his brother Marco had last season. He has 16 assists in his career, two more than Marco had in his stellar career.
 
THE WALL
Senior Micah Conrads has been nothing short of spectacular in net during the NCAA Tournament. Conrads has allowed just one goal and has a .938 save percentage including 15 saves. He has faced a
total of 58 shots which amounts to 19.3 shots per match.
 
On the season, Conrads ranks fourth in the country in save percentage (.864) and seventh in goals against average (0.59)
 
INJURY FREE
Sophomore Spencer Jackson returned to the field in the NCAA Tournament. Jackson suffered a facial injury in the fifth match of the season and did not play until Midwestern State match in the NCAA Second Round. He tallied his first goal of the season against St. Edward's in the South Central Championship match which tied the match at 1-1.
 
NSCAA POLL
Colorado Mesa continues to be ranked No. 11 in the NSCAA National Poll. In the Final Four, the Mavericks are the only team ranked outside the top ten. Charleston is ranked No. 1 followed by Lynn at
No. 3 and Quincy at No. 5.
 
NATIONAL RANKS
Defense has been the key all season long for the Mavericks. They rank fifth in the country in save percentage (.854) and shutout percentage (.590). They rank eighth in NCAA II in team goals against
average, allowing 0.62 goals per 90 minutes.
 
2013 RMAC TOURNAMENT CHAMPS
The Mavericks won their first-ever RMAC Tournament last season, defeating theRegis Rangers 2-1 in double overtime. Oliver Querin booted in the game-winning goal in the second overtime period and
was named to the all-tournament team. Colorado Mesa was left out of the NCAA Tournament last season.

The Final Four will conclude the season for the Mavericks men's soccer team. The season will close out as the most successful season in men's soccer history. They will have set a school record for wins and
matches played.
