Mavericks Lasso Cowgirls, 83-55

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado Mesa scored 49 second half points en route to an 83-55 win over the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls on Saturday evening at Brownson Arena in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's basketball matchup.
 
Erin Reichle scored 14 of her game-high 25 points in the first half. Reichle finished the night 8-of-11 from the field and 6-of-9 from beyond the three-point arc. She added four assists and three rebounds.
 
A night after turning the ball over 29 times, the Mavericks turned it over just eight times that led to just two Cowgirl points. Colorado Mesa forced 12 New Mexico Highlands turnovers and converted them into 16 points.
 
The Mavericks led by nine at halftime and led by as many as 31 with a little over five minutes remaining in the game. They led for nearly 34 minutes in the matchup.
 
Laurel Kasel finished with 12 points including three three-point baskets.
 
Shanna Halalilo had 11 and Erika Musante finished with 10 to round out the Mavericks that had double-digit points.
 
Claudia Meneses led New Mexico Highlands with 18 points and six rebounds.
 
Colorado Mesa will travel to Fort Lewis and Adams State next weekend before taking a week off for the Christmas break.
