GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The No. 16 Colorado Mesa women's basketball limited the visiting McMurry WarHawks to just 26 percent from the floor in a 64-41 win for the Mavericks in the Holiday Inn – Airport Thanksgiving Classic at Brownson Arena.
Colorado Mesa took a 31-19 halftime lead after shooting over 42 percent from the field and 35 percent from behind the three point line.
Erin Reichle scored eight of her game-high 16 points in the first half.
Leanndra Gilbert finished the game with seven points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes of action. Gilbert also had a career-high four blocked shots and three steals.
Siu Lo'amanu finished in double-figures with 12 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out five assists.
McMurry shot just 14-of-53 from the field and 3-of-6 from behind the three point line in the game. The WarHawks committed 16 turnovers with Colorado Mesa picking up 12 points off those turnovers.
Adijatu Disu led McMurry with 11 points.
Colorado Mesa will open up Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action next weekend when they travel to Black Hills State and Chadron State on Friday and Saturday.
