National Leader
Ryan Stephen turned in another strong weekend on the scoresheet. The Lakewood, Colo., native scored 22 points against Colorado College and followed up with 29 points against Northern New Mexico. Stephan leads Div. II in field goals made this season with 46. He is averaging 27.5 points per game, sixth best in the nation and second in the RMAC. Stephen is shooting 67-percent from the field ranking 35th in the nation and second in the league. He shot a season-high 81-percent (13-16) against Northern New Mexico.
3-Point Shooting
Colorado Mesa has established its self as one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference this season. The Mavericks rank second in 3-pointers per game (8.8) and 3-point field goal percentage (.422).
Jerry Duckworth is the Mavericks biggest threat from deep. The Federal Way, Wash., native ranks fourth in the RMAC in 3-pointers per game at 2.75.
Career-High
Trevor Van Tassel posted several career-highs against Northern New Mexico last weekend. The Lakewood, Colo., native scored five points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out one assist.
