Colorado Mesa Move Up in National Poll
With their come from behind 3-1 victory over CSU-Pueblo and a dominating 3-0 defeat of Western State Colorado, the Mavericks have moved up to No. 17 in the AVCA Top-25 poll. Last week's poll had the Mavs at No. 20. Colorado School of Mines now ranks No. 11 and MSU Denver stayed in the poll at 25.Â
Volleyball Getting it Done As A TeamÂ
As a team the Mavericks rank 6th in Div. II and third in the conference in assists per set with 13.75. They rank 29th nationally and third in the RMAC with 17.69 digs per set. With 14.60 kills per set, Colorado Mesa volleyball is seventh out of 278 ranked teams. Their .813 win percentage puts them at 31st nationally and third in the RMAC. The Mavs are ranked 24th in Div. II in team assists with 756. To wrap up all the categories in which the Mavericks are ranked in the top 35 in Div. II, Colorado Mesa has 803 kills to put them ranked 25th.
Jordyn Moody ranks fourth in assists per set (12.13) Â and twelfth in total assists (667) in Div. II.Â
A Week in Review
Colorado Mesa went 2-0 on the weekend with a 3-1 victory over CSU-Pueblo and a straight set win over Western State Colorado. The Mavericks went 4-1 on their five game road trip. Their lone loss came to MSU Denver.Â
When the Mavs Win...
In the Mavericks thirteen wins on the season, the Mavs have only dropped two sets. They have won in straight sets in every victory except for their 3-1 wins over then No. 10 Southwest Minnesota State and CSU-Pueblo.Â
Mavericks in RMAC RankingsÂ
Senior libero Tiffany Peterson ranks sixth in the RMAC  in digs per set ( 4.69) and  eighth in total digs (258).
Melissa Hess (.340),
Abby Ney (.331) and
Audrey Steinkirchner (.263) are ranked fifth, sixth and tenth respectively in hit percentage. Hess is also ninth in the conference in kills per set (3.25) and eighth in total kills (179).

A Look at the Mustangs
The Mustangs enter their match against the Mavs with a 2-6 conference record and  a 5-10 mark overall. They are coming off a 3-1 victory over Adams State. Their other RMAC win of the season came with a 3-1 defeat of Colorado Christian University. The Mavericks hold a 11-8 career record against the Mustangs including season splits each of the last two seasons.Â
Scouting the Cowgirls
With a 2-6 RMAC record, New Mexico Highlands is sitting in the bottom third of the conference with Western New Mexico, Chadron, Fort Lewis and Western. Their two RMAC wins have come in straight set victories over Chadron State and Western New Mexico. The Mavericks have dominated the Cowgirls with a 25-9 overall series record. Colorado Mesa is 15-1 when playing New Mexico Highlands at home. The Mavericks last loss to the Cowgirls came Sept. 30, 2011 at New Mexico Highlands. Â
