Silvestrone Nets Mavericks First Win

DURANGO, Colorado – Christine Silvestrone's goal in the 43rd minute was all the Mavericks needed in a 1-0 win over Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rival Fort Lewis on Friday afternoon at Dirks Field. The win was the Mavericks first of the season.
 
The goal was Silvestrone's first of the season and came off a rebound from a previous shot. Her kick came from three yards out and was the Mavericks ninth goal of the season.
 
Colorado Mesa outshot the Skyhawks 13-12 and had more shots on goal 8-4.
 
Sarah Schnetzler made four saves and picked up her fourth shutout of the season.
 
The Mavericks will close out the season this Sunday against Adams State at 1:00pm at Walker Field. Colorado Mesa will also honor their seniors prior to the start of the match.
