Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The No. 14 Colorado Mesa University volleyball team won its 20
th match of the season with a 3-0 RMAC win over Western State Saturday (Oct. 25).
For the second straight match
Abby Ney tallied double figures for kills finishing with 12. She hit a match-high .579 with 12 kills and only one error on 19 attempts.
Melissa Hess finished with 15 kills to lead all players. She hit .520 with two errors in the contest.
The Mavericks hit .217 for the match but the offense got off to a slow start hitting .083 in the first set which it won 25-18.
CMU turned things around in the second set hitting .316. Western State would hit .054 for the set, the only one which they hit in the positive for the match. Mesa posted a 71-percent sideout percentage and won the set 25-14.
Western tallied a team-high eight kills in the final set but Mesa countered with 15 to win 25-15.
The Mavericks tallied 65 digs in the contest, including a match-high 25 by
Tiffany Petersen.
Casey Ball and
Erin Perez finished with a combined 22 digs.
Jordyn Moody accounted for 31 of the Mavericks 38 assists in the game.

Tiffany Petersen, were honored before the match which was the final regular season home match for the Mavericks.
CMU (20-3, 13-1) will play at New Mexico Highlands Oct. 31.
