Player of the Week
Sophomore linebacker
Marcus Cross was named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week. The Colorado Springs, Colo., native pick-six with 1:11 remaining in the game at Western New Mexico University on Saturday sealed the 45-35 win for the Mavericks. Cross had two interceptions in the game, with one return of 19 yards and the other for the 30-yard touchdown. He recorded 10 tackles in the game as well, including two unassisted tackles for loss and a three-yard sack, and he added one pass breakup.
Diversified Scoring
Colorado Mesa has scored every possible way this season except a defensive two-point conversion. The Mavericks have scored offensive and defensive touchdowns, field goal, extra point and safety.
Running for Touchdowns
Redshirt freshman
Daryl Hawkins ran for a season-high three touchdowns at Western New Mexico last weekend. The Highlands Ranch, Colo., native averaged 5.6 yards on 12 carries for 67 yards. He ranks fourth on the team with 182 yards (3.8 ypc) this season.
Interceptions
CMU intercepted two passes at Western New Mexico to bring its season total to 13 this season, tied for the most in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and eighth in Div. II.
Blocking Kicks
Tom Saager blocked the third punt this season for CMU. The Mavericks rank tied for the league lead and rank fifth in the nation in blocked punts. Mesa has done an even better job this season blocking kicks with seven, most in the RMAC and second best in the nation. Pace leads Div. II with nine blocked kicks. Fort Lewis has not had a punt or kick blocked this season.

Senior defensive linemen
Zach Beach earned First Team All-Academic honors from the RMAC. The Castle Rock, Colo., native has a 3.56 grade point average in Land/Energy Management. 13 other players earned All-RMAC Academic Honor Roll accolades. Complete list below.

Colorado Mesa is 5-0 this season when it scores at least 20 points and 0-2 when it scores less than 20. CMU is averaging 31.9 points per game, fourth best in the RMAC this season.

Dustin Rivas leads Div. II in passes defended with 2.1 per game. He leads the league and ranks fifth in the nation in interceptions with 2.1 per game.
