Women's Soccer Nets First League Win

Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Colorado Mesa women's soccer team defeated CSU-Pueblo 2-0 Friday (Sept. 27) for its first win in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Mavericks improve to 2-5-0 overall and 1-2-0 in league play. 

Sam Burneo sent a long forward pass to Tayler Franklin who scored a break-away goal in the 24th minute for CMU. The goal was her second of the year. 

Veronica Rodriguez scored the team's second goal of the night in the 63rd minute off an assist by Ashley Wallace

CMU goalie Sarah Schnetzler made four saves in her second shutout of the season. 

The Thunderwolves finished with a slim 13-12 edge in shots. 

The team will play at Regis Sunday (Sept. 29).
