LAS VEGAS, N.M. – Colorado Mesa finished the weekend sweep with a pair of 3-1 wins over McMurry University and Dixie State. The Mavericks improved their record to 7-1 heading into RMAC matches next weekend.
In the first match of the day, the Mavericks hit .315 and had three players record double-digit kills in a four set win over McMurry (25-17, 17-25, 25-14, 25-15.)
Colorado Mesa hit over .480 in the first and fourth sets of the match.
Abby Ney, Melissa Hess, and Erin Perez all reached double-digits in kills with Ney leading the way with 13.
Perez finished the match with 10 kills and a match-high 15 digs as she records her third double-double of the season.
Jordyn Moody continued to give the hitters good sets and finished with a match-high 43 assists.
In the tournament finale, four players finished with double-digit kills in a 3-1 win over Dixie State (19-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-14.)
Erin Perez led the way again with 14 kills and 10 digs. Perez finished the day with 24 kills and 25 digs.
Senior Sunni Rae Baird had a match-high 18 digs in the win.
Jordyn Moody had a match-high 49 assists and now has 305 assists on the season
The Mavericks will head back down to the 'Land of Enchantment' when they take on New Mexico Highlands to open up RMAC play.
