Colorado Mesa improved its record to 4-3 overall while Montana State-Billings fell to 2-7-1 on the season.
CMU jumped out to an 11-1 lead after five innings by scoring runs in four of the first five innings including five runs in the fifth. But Montana State-Billings mounted a rally and outscored the Mavericks 11-3 in the final four innings of play but the ten run deficit proved to be too much.

The Yellowjackets scored their runs off of four different relievers but closer
Garrett Carpenter came in and pitched the final 1.2 innings and allowed just two hits and struck out three to earn his second save of the season.
Carpenter and
Nate Robertson led the Mavericks offensively. Carpenter went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs scored, and a triple while Robertson went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Justin Rosales also went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and his first homerun of the season.
