The #20 Colorado Mesa University Baseball team will open its season this weekend against #23 UC-San Diego in San Diego, Calif. This will be the second time in three seasons the Mavericks will open with the Tritons. Here is a quick preview of the matchup.

UCSD Preview: The Tritons have three preseason All-West Region players in Pitcher Ryan Goodbrand, Outfielder Danny Susdorf, and Infielder Garrett Tuck. Goodbrand is a senior righthander finished last season 11-0 with a 2.90 ERA while Susdorf led UCSD last season with a .393 batting average. Tuck is a junior who batted .362 last season.
UC San Diego was selected to finish second in the CCAA behind Chico State. The Tritons won the CCAA regular season and tournament titles last season. UCSD was followed by Cal Poly Pomona and Sonoma State to round out the top four.
Last Season: Colorado Mesa took three-of-four from UCSD last season. The Mavericks won by scores of 14-4, 6-4 and 3-2 while dropping the final game of the series 11-7.
Mavericks Preview: Colorado Mesa was picked to finish first in the RMAC, garnering all seven possible first place votes. Colton Schoelkopf,
