Box Score ALAMOSA, Colo. – With their playoff hopes on the line, Colorado Mesa scored two first half goals on their way to a 2-0 win over the Adams State Grizzlies at ASU Soccer Field.
Unfortunately, the win wasn't enough to get them into the RMAC Tournament. The Mavericks finished one spot out of the tournament in seventh place.
In the match, Colorado Mesa scored in the tenth minute on a goal by
Leilani Wiernicki. The unassisted goal was her first of the season and gave the Mavericks an early 1-0 lead.
Sam Burneo tallied her second goal of the season in the 28
th minute of the match to give CMU the decisive 2-0 lead.
Sarah Schnetzler, who started every game of the season in goal, picked up the win and the shutout. Schnetzler made three saves in the match while recording her fifth shutout of the season.
The Mavericks finish the season with a 7-11-0 record.
