Reetz Three Time Winner for Women's Swimming

ALAMOSA, Colo. – Miranda Reetz won three events in pool record time for the Colorado Mesa swimming and diving team in a double dual with Wayland Baptist and Adams State in Alamosa Saturday (Nov. 2). 
 
The Denver, native won both breaststroke events and the 200 individual medley. Her time of 1:09.59 in the 100 breaststroke was the fifth fastest in school history, while her time of 2:33.31 in the 200 ranks sixth. Her performance of 2:17.47 in the 200 individual medley ranks tied for 17th.

Eryn Leonard was the other event winner for the Mavericks with a win in the 100 fly (1:01.57). Her time was the 11th fastest time in school history. She also swam the 12th fastest time in school history in the 50 free (25.84) to finish third.

Brianna Purkapile finished second in the 200 fly (2:22.90) and the 200 free (2:02.39). Her times rank 12th and 16th in school history.

Abi Young swam the 12th fastest time in school history to finish second in the 200 back (2:17.87), and Brianna Bearden was third in the 100 back (1:03.72) with the 16th fastest time in school history.

Maddy Wigg finished third in both distance freestyle events. Her time of 11:35.17 in the 1000 free ranks 16th in program history. She swam 5:42.63 in the 500 free.

Marissa Bradley was third in the 100 free (57.58) and Ashley Ochsner was third in the 200 breast in a time of 2:43.78, the 16th best in Maverick history.

The 400 free relay team of Eryn Leonard, Abi Young, Annie Jones and Marissa Bradley finished second in 3:50.96. The 400 medley relay team of Brianna Bearden, Miranda Reetz, Eryn Leonard and Briana Purkapile finished third in 4:13.45.

The women defeated Wayland Baptist and loss to Adams State in dual meet competition. 

CMU will swim at the Colorado School of Mines Sunday (Nov. 3).
